The fifth iteration of the rally will take place in Saudi Arabia from January 5–19, 2024. It will begin in the millennium city of AlUla, go across the nation toward the Empty Quarter, and end in Yanbu, which is located on the Red Sea coast. The 46th edition of the Dakar Rally will include new competition and technology elements. To commemorate the opening of registrations, the organizers have invited French and Spanish racers to Château-Lastours. In terms of a challenge, the Dakar 2024 will be just as respectful of the competitors' expectations after a tough edition that shown their resilience. The route, 60% of which will be entirely new, will continue the exploration of Saudi land across an equal 5, 000 km of unique stages. Nine bivouacs in all will be erected throughout a wide area that runs east-west, crisscrossing the course in both directions to the route's end in Yanbu, which is located on the Red Sea's coasts.
