England play their last game in group B against Wales on November 29 at 7pm UK time.
The Three Lions (ranked fifth in the world) were drawn as the top
seed in the group, but the reality is there are no weak links in
Group B. Along with England, the Americans (16th), Welsh (19th)
and Iranians (20th) form arguably the toughest group of any at Qatar
2022 — based on FIFA's world rankings, at least. England will face a
first-ever ‘Battle of Britain’ at a World Cup finals. The Three Lions
will be up against Wales in the group stage after they beat Ukraine in their play-off.
The two countries have faced each other plenty of times in recent years
and it’s England who have dominated the results, winning all three
of their most recent competitive fixtures at the 2016 and 2011 UEFA European
Championships. The last time Wales got a win over their neighbours
was at the 1984 British Home Championship.
