After the organisation of the European Cross Country Championships in 2013, two European team championships of the second division, numerous Balkan championships, the European Indoor Championships in 2017, the World Indoor Championships in 2022, eight international Belgrade Indoor Meetings, the Serbia Marathon and other athletics events, Serbia is hosting the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, which will be held on 30 March 2024.
